FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have questions about our services? Chances are, you’ll find them right here!

  • +
I’m ready to get started. Now what?
First, you’ll reserve your project with the "Reserve Now" button on the Pricing Page. That way, you’re booked for our next available opening. Once we’ve had a chance to chat and we’re all in agreement that Fuze Branding is a good fit for you and your business, a 50% downpayment on services is needed to lock in your project and get to work.
  • +
    How do you accept payment?
Not in gold bullion anymore, that’s for sure! (Pro tip: never work with pirates) We'll send you an invoice via Quickbooks. From there, you’ll be able to process payment quickly and securely using a credit card or a direct bank transfer. Please note that all invoices are due within 15 days of being issued, and that a late fee of 10% will automatically be issued for every 15 days past due.
  • +
    When will I be billed?
After you reserve your project and decide you wanna make this thing official, you’ll put down a 50% downpayment on your services before we start work. The other 50% of payment is billed once the project is complete. (Just one exception: project fees under $500 will be billed 100% upfront.)
  • +
What does it mean to “reserve” a project?
We want to make sure you’re 100% comfortable and on board with both the process and timing before you pay us a dime. So reserving your project ensures you’re booked for the next available opening on our schedule. Reservations are good for one week with no payment required ‘til we’ve had a chance to talk.
  • +
After I reserve my project, then what?
One of our team members will contact you (usually within 48 hours) to answer any questions you may have about your project. Once you're ready to get started, we'll launch our quick and painless Client Setup Process and get you on your merry way to Awesome Design Land with our designers.
  • +
How long does the design process take?
Once the questionnaire, deposit, and client contract are locked down, we set to work. Generally, visual identity projects take 4-6 weeks; websites last 6-8 weeks. Once we begin your Client Setup Process, we will create a custom timeline for your project to keep everyone in the loop on presentation dates and let you know ahead of time when we'll need feedback from you.
  • +
    What is your refund policy?
Due to the digital nature of our services, Fuze Branding does not offer a return policy of any kind. In the event that you’d like to cancel your project within the first 30 days of a project’s start date, a standard 50% kill fee will apply. If the project is canceled after this, the full project fee will be due.
  • +
Will I own the rights to the creative you come up with?
Yes. After completing payment in full, you’ll own 100% rights to the work, with the following exception. The visual identity cannot be sublicensed, resold, shared, transferred, or otherwise redistributed on its own (even for free). Further, before making any changes to finished work – if you want to, say, plop a bird on your logo, or change it from blue to bright orange – FUZE must be consulted and provide consent.

I don’t see an item I want in the packages offered, do you custom quotes?
The a la carte menu is a great option for one-offs and add-ons to the packages we offer. If you don’t see what you’re looking for here, that means we don’t specialize in it, so we don’t offer it. We just want to be sure we’re doing our best work for you! Hope you understand.

How do I know you won't run off to Mexico in the middle of the night with all my money and a half-finished project?
First off, we’re terrible runners; we’d never make it down the stairs at the office, much less the border. Second, we’re a business too, and we’d be super bummed if anyone did that to us. Karma, amirite? For even more reassurance that Team Fuze is not a flight risk, check out reviews from our happy clients HERE, or come hang out with us on Instagram or Facebook and get to know our team.
  • +
What would be expected from me as a client?
You can expect us to always meet our deadlines and get back to you within 48 hours, so in order to preserve a project’s momentum, we expect the same from you. In extreme cases, if a client does not respond within 21 days (yep, that’s happened), we reserve the right to cancel the project at the client's expense. Of course, we're not jerks about it. We understand that you want to take the time you need to make the best decisions for you and your business, and to give the most useful feedback possible. Expected response times are within 48 hours, but just tell us if you need more time (within reason, of course), and we’ll find a way to work it out.

My business is pretty niche; are you sure you’ll sound like you know what you’re talking about?
Sure! We focus on crafting creatively-driven content for websites, and that’s it. So we’ll do a deep-dive on your industry, really getting dirty with it. From there, the Content Client Questionnaire you complete will help us learn what makes your business uniquely you. We typically find that clients walk away with some insights that they hadn’t considered before, since we’re able to help look at your business and its benefits with fresh eyes.
VISUAL IDENTITY
  • +
What’s the difference between a primary and secondary logo/watermark?
The primary logo is the touchstone of your brand and one of your most valuable visual assets. Sometimes, though, circumstances may require you use another form of that logo – when your company name appears on a website with a different-colored background, for instance, or in a smaller space than your primary logo will fit. That’s when your secondary logo or watermark gets to shine. We create both for you so you’re always prepared.

What are brand patterns & textures, and why do I need them?
Part of building a brand is maintaining a consistent visual identity, so that your company becomes associated with a certain combination of colors, graphics, typography, and iconography. Your brand patterns and textures are an extension of that. They can be used on marketing collateral and be carried over to your website. They are seamless titles that are ready to go, in your brand colors, and in alignment with your brand’s personality.

What are commercial font files & license?
Commercial fonts are fonts that are created by professional typography design firms. They are not available for free download, meaning there’s less of a chance that one of your competitors will have the same font as you! These commercial font files will come with your final package for you to download to your computer and use for future marketing materials, etc. The license is drafted in your company's name, so we’ll hand that right over to you once we get you all set up online.

What’s included in the Brand Guideline book?
Maintaining a consistent look and feel for your brand no matter where in the world it’s seen requires strict dedication to standards. The Brand Guideline book lays out your visual identity in detail, helping you keep your brand focused and unique. Contained within the Brand Guideline book, you’ll find requirements and specifications for everything included in your identity package.
WEBSITE
  • +
    What is Wordpress anyway?
Wordpress is a great web platform used by tons of small businesses. It has an easy-to-use dashboard that lets you (or your company’s designated web guru) easily navigate your site’s backend and make content updates and changes as needed.
  • +
How can I make changes and updates to my website?
You are totally equipped to make basic content changes to your site, we promise. We’ll go over this kind of stuff during the project, and we'll train you on the basics once your site goes live. For changes that involve design tweaks, page add-ons, and the like, you’ll want to check out the a la carte menu. Some design firms lock you into a monthly premium just in case you need their help – sort of like insurance – but we won’t. We think you should pay for help only when you need it. So don’t worry, we’ll be there for you!

Who is responsible for purchasing the Domain & Hosting?
You got this! We’re happy to help you choose a plan that’s right for you and your business. We recommend bluehost.com for hosting – they have 24/7 customer support staff who can walk you through nearly anything, with affordable plans starting at just $5 a month. For domain purchases, we like iwantmyname.com, with URLs going for $15 and up. While some companies offer hosting as a service, we believe it’s always better for you to be able to reach out directly to a vendor if need be. The less layers between you and your website, the better. Once you have everything in hand, you’ll just need to forward over the confirmation files to your project manager so we can set it up for you.
  • +
If I have trouble with my website, will you be around to help?
The Fuze Branding team guarantees 30 days of troubleshooting after the launch of your site to help with any questions, training, or bugs that need fixed. If additional add-ons or tweaks become necessary after this period, we’re happy to help, with one of our a la carte menu items or maintenance packages.
COPYWRITING
  • +
I know how to write; why should I hire a copywriter to write for my business?
The temptation to do everything yourself for your small business can be a strong one. But we think you shine brightest when you focus on what you do best. We love to write. That’s our skillset. We’ll help translate your vision for your business into words, and craft engaging content that will capture the attention of the users and consumers you want. That way, you’re freed up to focus on what you love to do.
  • +
I'm not sure what the right tone of voice is for my customer. Can we figure that out together?
Absolutely! In the Content Client Questionnaire, there’s a section to include links to any writers or sites you like and feel come close to capturing the essence of your brand. Maybe that’s Bill Simmons the Sports Guy. Or Christiane Amanpour. Or Perez Hilton. Who knows. Just toss it all in the questionnaire, and we’ll take it from there, developing a brand voice manifesto that’s unique to you and your business.
  • +
What is SEO? Do you use it in your writing?
SEO, or “search engine optimization” is the process of improving a site’s visibility in a search engine's organic, (read: un-paid) search results. There are several ways of doing this – some of which may or may not be black magic – but what we do is pretty straightforward. We determine keyword phrases that are relevant to your company and put them into your copy so that people searching for a business like yours will actually find your business.
PHOTOGRAPHY

I look like I've been partying in Vegas all weekend. Can your photographer get rid of these bags?
Not only is our photographer a master of making you look your best (even when you don't feel like it), we'll also have a stylist and makeup artist on hand to make you look like a rockstar...Minus the hangover, ya know.

What if I just want to use stock photography? Can you help with that?
While custom photography is always a good investment for your brand's portfolio, we can definitely curate quality stock photography that will fit the bill. We will provide a custom quote for you upon request.
